After weeks of building up anticipation, OnePlus has officially revealed the OnePlus 13 at an event in China.
This impressive new device boasts a massive 6,000mAh battery, capable of 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. This is a considerable upgrade over the OnePlus 12’s 5,400mAh battery, making it one of the largest capacities in the smartphone market today.
Under the hood, the OnePlus 13 features Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, making it one of the first devices to use this advanced silicon. This is the same chipset expected to power next year’s Samsung Galaxy S25 series, so performance should be exceptional.
Users in China will have access to a configuration with up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, though international models may offer up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage based on previous trends.
In terms of durability, the OnePlus 13 boasts IP68 and IP69 ratings, providing higher resistance against dust and water than most other smartphones on the market.
The device sports a 6.82-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 3168, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an outstanding peak brightness of 4,500 nits. For secure access, it includes an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display, which offers a more reliable performance than the optical sensors seen on the OnePlus 12.
Camera capabilities are equally impressive, with a 50MP f/1.6 main sensor, a 50MP f/2.0 ultra-wide camera with a 120-degree field of view, and a 50MP f/2.6 telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom. There’s also a 32MP front camera, and the ultra-wide and telephoto sensors represent new upgrades.
The OnePlus 13’s design has evolved as well, featuring a flatter display and a redesigned camera block compared to its predecessor, the OnePlus 12.
For now, the OnePlus 13 is only available in China, with the global launch expected in the coming months. The base model, offering 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, is priced at CNY 4,499 (about $630 / £490 / AU$960), while the top-end model costs CNY 5,999 (around $840 / £650 / AU$1,280). However, prices for the global release may vary, and it’s uncertain whether the OnePlus 13 will be available in Australia, as the OnePlus 12 was not released there.
